Matt Nilsen

Salt Lake City, Utah

Matt Nilsen immersed himself in the world of Parkinson's disease when he attended the 2005 World Parkinson Congress. While he attended a number of lectures, he learned the most from talking to people with Parkinson's disease. Since that time he's written hundreds of columns on PD.

Matt and his wife enjoy raising their family, and they spend plenty of time doing homework and keeping up with the kids. In their free time, the Nilsens enjoy camping, mountain biking, snow sports, as well as just staying home and watching a good movie.

Nilsen's work in health care management often required learning to understand medical issues. He used this experience to help him take complex medical information and create easy-to-understand content for patient information Web sites. Nilsen earned a degree in health administration degree from the Medical College of Virginia.
